An envisioned game idea of mine

Title - Barrage Squad 
Genre - Sidescroller Plat former/Hack and Slash 

Game play - the idea follows a similar game play to classic sonic games but with many different things. for one the hack and slash element where you can beat up enemies for higher combos and pull off even more brutal attacks, secondly is the T meter, which fills up the more damage a character takes, when its full characters can use a Special tech which differs depending on the character, a Simple Health meter is what determines how close you are to dying, so none of that gathering rings stuff. 

Synopsis - on the Vitanova islands a place filled with Humans and Animalians who live side by side comfortably the many factions of Animalian include Ookami, Gearminder, Psycarian and Shadowinion, 

The plot itself is vastly unchanged from the actual canon i have with the I.B.S but with a few minor or major differences. 
So Cyrex rises up causes havoc and eventually the heroes get old enough to fight back forming a team called the Barrage Squad

Cast - The cast is pretty much the same as you'd think but with name and design changes 
Playable - 
Airon Hikarikaze the Ookami - The main hero - uses a sword to fight while having balanced stats, his T Meter ability is Spiritual Burst mode where he changes into his S.B form and gains invincibility with high speed and strength temporarily (25 seconds) 
Nega C Payne the Bandicoot - A Gearminder, creatures that live with machinery and are skilled with working it, he's quite slow but the strongest to play as, Nega fights with a wrench while his T meter ability is G.R.I.N.D assuilt where he summons his craft the G.R.I.N.D and starts blasting enemies in sight, (lasts 25 seconds) 
Kiefer Optim - A human (he's pretty much the same Optimus with a name change because hey he didnt need much change), while he fights with a baseball bat he has Low attack power but mid speed and the ability to fly with a jet pack, his T meter ability is Frightful face where he takes off his helmet and shows his ruined face to his foes scaring them to death, 
Yuri Violet  - (on the fence with her) A psycarian hedgehog (for the moment)  she has the lowest attack power but the highest speed Yuri isnt good at close combat, she instead handles it at range with her psychic ability while fighting with a rod. Her T meter ability is Psycho bomb where she nukes the screen with the power of her mind (if she isnt playable then she would be support by helping with tutorial stuff) 
Temporary Playable - 
Breaker Earthsoul - a Legendary warrior who seems to know about Airons past, only playable for the tutorial levels in the story. 

Non playable -
Jakel - A flying rodent creature who follows Airon around, he features in Airon's gameplay as a CPU assist often helping him by retrieving items and flying him to higher areas. (This is what Jacob might become) 
Clair Nightcutter  - an Ookami like Airon, she's a high ranking officer of Vita Nova Cities police force, She seems to have a crush on Nega 
Doctor Cyrex - A mad scientist who despises animalians of all descriptons. the main antagonist of the story and lives up to his role. 
Darkness Centros - A Shadowinion who seems smitten with Yuri despite her polite rejections to him. 
Oblivion Yamikaze - The Shadow of Airon, the dark desires that Airon held in his heart brought to life through seperation. He pledges to destroy all humans and anyone who gets in his way. 

Items - 

-Health items- 
Brubomb can - A type of pop that heals 10% of health
Small Brubomb bottle - A small bottle of pop that heals 30% of health 
Large Brubomb bottle - A big bottle of pop that heals 50% of health
Brubomb barrel - A barrel of Brubomb - heals 100% of health 

-Capsule items- 
Holy Stars - Stars that aid those that free them, Grants invincibility (25 seconds)

-Other items-
Checkpoint - Marks your placement and returns you there after falling
Switch Sphere - allows you to change to another character (this might be taken out i dont know) 
Shooter Vehicle - in certain sections characters will need to mount a type of vehicle, I.E Airon Drives a Motorcycle (the Ookami ZERO) while Nega uses the G.R.I.N.D, and drive through a long path of enemies while shooting them down 
Coins - point mcguffins (might have some other use like buying lives i dont know)

As much as i would like to make this a reality. sadly i dont have the experiences to make it alone... I would actually really appreciate the help i could get. whoever would feel willing enough to help of course.
